Lee leads Potomac State to 4-0 win in season opener

KEYSER, W.Va. — Brandon Lee, the third leading scorer in NJCAA Division III last season, scored four goals to lead the Potomac State College Catamounts, the No. 8 team in NJCAA Division III this season, to a 4-0 win over Lord Fairfax Community College Saturday in the Catamounts’ season opener at Stayman Field.

The teams played just a 45-minute half before the game was called due to recurring lightning.

Lee scored his first goal 12:30 into the contest on a penalty kick. He then scored at 13:08 on an assist by former Fort Hill Sentinel Austin Parker at 13:08.

After Lee scored unassisted at 25:33 to make it 3-0, he hit again at 44:48 on an assist from former Allegany Camper Brett Vanderhout to complete the scoring.

Potomac State outshot Lord Fairfax, 9-4, and had a 3-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Alec Sproule saved four shots in goal, while Lord Fairfax’s Zach Houle saved eight.

Potomac State (1-0) will play Tuesday, 4 p.m., against Stevenson University.
