Men’s Soccer: Catamounts struggles continue

MONACA, PA. — Lement Wright scored twice in the first half to build a 2-1 lead and Penn State Beaver added an insurance goal in the second half to hand Potomac State its fourth loss in five games, 3-1, on Monday afternoon.

Wright scored the first goal with 11 minutes gone by when Ryan Bogolin assisted him, and made it 2-0 when he scored unassisted three minutes later.

Potomac State got its goal right before intermission when Brandon Lee converted an Eric Szymanski assist.

Marcus Smith added an unassisted goal with 15 minutes remaining in the second half to make it 3-1.

Beaver suffocated the Catamounts in shots taken (7-2) and corner kicks (10-3), with PSC goalies Chris Orwig and Alex Sproule finishing with two saves apiece. Smith had two saves for the Titans.

Potomac State (9-4) plays Cecil at home at 4 p.m. on Friday.
