Men’s Soccer: Potomac State blanks Patrick Henry, 3-0

PURCELLVILLE, Va. — Dylan Romine scored a goal in each half and Aleck Sproule added a penalty kick for insurance during Potomac State’s 3-0 win over Patrick Henry on the road Saturday afternoon.

Romine recorded his first goal with 14:56 gone in the opening half and the score stayed 1-0 until there was 30:00 gone in the second. Sproule, who has also played goalie for the Catamounts, added the penalty kick with just under 10 minutes remaining.

“This was a good win for us,” said Catamounts’ coach Ray Kiddy. “Anytime you beat a four-year school with juniors and seniors it’s a nice win.”

Kevin Riley had one save in the shutout, and Patrick Henry’s Ryan Collins had five saves. Potomac State finished with a 7-1 lead in shots.

The Cats will play Monday at Blue Ridge Community College (Va.) at 4:30.
