Potomac State blasted its way to a 21 point lead at halftime against Westmoreland Wednesday evening and held off the Wolfpack for a win during an early Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference matchup at Dana G. Lough Gymnasium.

Heather Lesniowski led Potomac State with 14 points, Jenna McAtee added 13 and Leah Hershberger finished with 10 as the Catamounts improved to 10-2 overall and 2-0 in the WPCC. Kirsten Rayner led the team with eight rebounds and Kiki Dudley finished with nine points, five steals and three assists.

Westmoreland was led by Danielle Murphy’s 14 points. Shalia Williams scored 13 and Christina Wagner added 11.

The Catamounts offense ran smoothly as they got out to a 44-23 lead at halftime, but foul trouble kept Potomac State from finding a rhythm during the second half. PSC finished with 28 total fouls, almost twice as many as the Wolfpack’s 16. The Catamounts play tonight, 6 p.m., in Cumberland against ACM.
