KEYSER, W.V. — Amber Smith and Kristyn Wilson both scored more than 20 points and Garrett turned the last momentum swing into an 84-81 win over Potomac State Thursday at Dana G. Lough Gymnasium.

The Lakers (11-6) took their final lead just inside of two minutes remaining, and even though the Catamounts were able to convert most of their possessions into points, Garrett made enough of its free throws until the final horn to stay out in front. Garrett attempted 27 total free throws and sank 17 of them. While the Cats were much more efficient, missing only two free throws all night, they attempted just a dozen.

Smith scored a game-high 26 points, making seven field goals and 7 of 10 from the line, and Wilson combined eight field goals with five three free throws for 21 points. Tiara Washington and Anamaria Skaro gave the Lakers four players in double- figure scoring by adding 12 and 11 points.

The Cats (13-3) were led by Leah Hershberger’s 19 points, four assists and four steals. Jenna McAtee added
16 points, and Antwanye Parks put up eight points and four steals.  Kirsten Rayner had a team-high eight rebounds to go with six points.
