Women’s Basketball: Potomac State wins 8th straight

YOUNGWOOD, Pa. — Antwanye Parks scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, and Leah Hershberger had 12 points and four assists to lead Potomac State to a 63-59 victory over Westmoreland County Community College on Saturday afternoon.

The eighth straight win for Head Coach Jim Walton’s Catamounts keeps them on top and unbeaten in the Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference. They are 13-2 overall and 6-0 in the league.

Alexis Carr added 12 points, Chelsea Keyser seven points and four steals and Shannon Conradi seven rebounds for Potomac State.

Wendi Walsh and Devon Larkin scored 17 points each for Westmoreland (13-6, 4-1).

In a close game that went back-and-forth all day, the Catamounts were up 36-35 at halftime, then surged ahead by as many as nine points in the second half. The Wolfpack got to within three with just over a minute to go when Hershberger sank both ends of a one-and-one to help the

Cats regain the momentum and hold on for the win.
