Women’s Basketball: Lady Catamounts win opener

DUNDALK, MD — Antwanye Parks opened the season with a 21-point, 11-rebound performance and Leah Hershberger also had a big all-around night as Potomac State beat Dundalk 74-66 in college women’s basketball Tuesday evening.

Parks made just three field goals but cashed in from the foul line, as did the Catamounts as a team. Parks made 15 of 18 free throws, and Potomac State finished 30 of 46.

Hershberger added 10 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals, and Chelsea Keyser had 14 points, Alexis Carr 11 points and seven steals and Miranda McNabb eight points. Elizabeth Mills grabbed seven rebounds.

Shala Shuler led Dundalk (0-2) with 18 points.

The Catamounts play again Thursday, at Howard Community College, at 7:30 p.m.
