Women’s Basketball: Carr drives PSC past Westmoreland

YOUNGWOOD, Pa. — Lexi Carr scored 23 points and Potomac State got a double-double from Courtney Davis during a 79-53 win at Westmoreland on Monday.

Carr gathered her 23 points on nine field goals and 5 of 7 shooting at the line, while Davis made eight field goals and was 2 of 3 at the line for 18 points. Davis also led the team with 13 rebounds and four steals, while Jessica Hakel put together 15 points and six assists. Brooke Nesselrodt became the fourth Catamount in double-digit scoring with 11 points.

The Wolfpack was led by Chelsea Szakal with 20 points and Brooke Kalp with 16.

The Cats got an early lead before leveling off for the rest of the first half and held leads of 18-11 at the end of the first quarter and 34-27 at halftime. Potomac State added 16 points to the lead in the third quarter to go up 57-34 by the beginning of the fourth.

The win moves Potomac State’s record to 8-2 and sets it up with a rematch at home Wednesday against Howard.
