Women’s Basketball: NOVA proves too much for Potomac State

KEYSER, W. Va. — Alexis Carr finished with 23 points, but it wasn’t enough for Potomac State to overcome Northern Virginia as the Catamounts fell, 68-60.

Carr’s 23 points came on nine field goals, one of which came from beyond the three-point arc, and 4 of 4 shooting from the charity stripe.

Courtney Davis was the second-leading scorer for the hosts, finishing with 12 points on two field goals and 8-for-10 from the foul line.

Christian Roberts scored a game-high 25 points for the visitors, sinking eight field goals, including two from three-point land, and 7 of 8 shooting from the free-throw line.

The Catamounts led at the end of the opening two quarters, 23-17 and 37-25. The game was tied at 49 going into the fourth quarter.

Potomac State (9-5) will travel to Catonsville on Friday, 5 p.m.
