Women’s Basketball: Potomac State wins season opener

KEYSER, W.V. — Kirsten Doleman scored 21 points, Sam Rohrbaugh had a 16-point game and a perfect shooting night, and Potomac State blitzed Anne Arundel with a 56-5 mid-game run in a season-opening 82-40 victory in junior college women’s basketball Wednesday evening.

Mary Feaster had 12 points and six assists, Madison Pfaff scored eight points and had a team-high 11 rebounds, Kenzie Chrisman added eight points and Amy’a Brothers grabbed nine boards for the Catamounts.

Doleman made eight field goals and three of four free throws while Rohrbaugh, a freshman, shot 8 for 8 from the field.

Anne Arundel led 13-7 after the first quarter, and was up 20-7 in the second when Potomac State turned it on, outscoring the Pioneers 56-5 to build a 63-25 lead through three quarters. Rohrbaugh and Doleman had eight points each and Feaster had six during the 31-point third quarter.

Jasmine Lawless led Anne Arundel with 21 points.

Potomac State plays Saturday at Clark State in Springfield, Ohio.
