Women’s Basketball: Catamounts super in win over NOVA

SPRINGFIELD, Va. — Olivia Wilson scored a team-high 22 points and Kirsten Doleman recorded a double-double, leading Potomac State past Northern Virginia, 76-71, on Thursday evening.

Wilson converted on eight field goals, half of which came from beyond the three-point line, and a pair of free throws. She also grabbed eight rebounds.

Doleman had a 15 and 15 night, grabbing a team-high 15 boards while collecting 15 points on five field goals and 5 of 8 shooting from the free-throw line. Ny’Zhea Green added 13 points and Kenzie Chrisman and Samantha Rohrbaugh scored seven apiece for the Catamounts, who trailed by as many as 18 in the second quarter.

Northern Virginia led at the end of the first two quarters, 32-18 and 48-38, before Potomac State tied the game at 60 going into the fourth.

The Catamounts (7-4) will host Allegany on Monday, 5 p.m.
