Lady Cats win league opener in Women's Basketball play
Keyser, WV- Ashley Hines' double-double of 24 points and 13 rebounds highlighted a dominating Potomac State performance Monday as the Catamounts won their conference opener, 77-43, over Butler.
Hines reached her 24 points all from inside the three-point line, didn’t attempt a single foul shot and added three steals to her line. Alexis Steele and Stephanie Duah both finished with 15 points, Brandie Robertson added eight points and Ali St. Van led the Cats with eight assists.
Potomac State led from the jump until the final horn and played almost identical halves by scoring 38 points in the first half and 39 in the second. Butler was limited to 16 first-half points, before finding more success in the second half.
The Catamounts allowed only three Butler players to score, with Emily Wise led the Pioneers with 13 points. Kacey Flaeeger scored 12 points, and Erica Schultzheis finished with 11 points.
Now 6-5, PSC will stay in the Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference to play at Westmoreland on Saturday.
