Lady Cats throttle past Butler 86-50

BUTLER, Pa. — Ashley Hines overwhelmed Butler, scoring 26 points and also getting 16 rebounds and three blocks to lead Potomac State to a 86-50 win in Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference women’s basketball.

Potomac State dominated on defense and on the boards throughout and took a 49-21 lead into halftime.

Butler was more competitive in the second half as they were outscored 37-29, but it wasn’t enough to threaten the outcome of the game. 

Ali St. Van scored 24 points for Potomac State, Alexis Steele had 17 and Brandi Robertson added 10 points and six assists.

Casey Fleeger led Butler with 22 points.

Potomac State, 9-6 overall and 4-0 in the conference, plays at Allegany College of Maryland on Friday at 7 p.m.
