Turnovers costly as Lady Cats Basketball falls to Dundalk

BALTIMORE, MD. — Potomac State led for 38 minutes Wednesday against Dundalk, but the Lions took their first lead with 2:09 left to play and was able to hand the Catamounts their first loss of the season 75-70 during women’s NJCAA basketball in Baltimore.

Terry Boyd and Carissa Williams were the only players in double figures for the Lions, with both players scoring 15. Laura Hermann finished with nine points and gave Dundalk the lead when she drained her only three with just over two minutes left.

Ashley Hines had a monster night with 34 points and 15 rebounds for Potomac State, and Ali St. Van added 11 points. Chanel Santana finished with eight points.

The Cats were ahead by as much as 17 at one point in the first half, and led at halftime, 35-27.

“Too many turnovers,” said PSC coach Jim Walton. “It’s something we have to fix if we are going to get better.

Potomac State (1-1) will play against Erie in the McDonald’s Tournament at Garrett College.
