Potomac State Lady Cats Basketball rolls past Howard in opener

KEYSER, W.V. — Ashley Hines scored 28 points and Chanel Santana and Ruth Wheeler added 12 to lead Potomac State to a season-opening 91-42 rout of Howard in college women’s basketball Saturday afternoon.

Hines, a 5-foot-7 sophomore guard, had 17 points in the first half, helping the Catamounts build a 45-22 lead. She made 13 field goals and both of her free throws in leading all scorers.

All 13 Catamounts played and 12 scored.

Ciara McCray led Howard with 14 points.

Potomac State plays at Dundalk on Wednesday.
