Potomac State Lady Cats Basketball wrap up Charm City Classic
Baltimore, MD- The Potomac State Women's Basketball team wrapped up a busy weekend by going 1-2 at the Charm City Classic Sunday at Baltimore City Community College.

Sunday- Potomac State College had undefeated Chesapeake Community College on the ropes before the Skipjacks pulled it out 80-75 in the final three minutes during the Charm City Classic Sunday at Baltimore City Community College.
Chesapeake, led by Denver Clyde’s game-high 25 points, trailed by 10 until the three-minute mark. The teams went back-and-forth until Chesapeake took the lead for good with 30 seconds remaining.
The Catamounts fell behind at the start of the game 16-2 and battled back to trail by one at halftime, 30-29. Alexis Steele finished with 15 points, all coming off of three pointers. Three of her five long baskets came in the first half that allowed the Catamounts to keep it close.
Ashley Hines and Brandie Robertson were PSC’s leading scorers with 18 points each. Hines had a double-double with 12 rebounds and she made three steals. Robertson dished out six assists.
Chesapeake (9-0) got 20 points from Ashleigh Jones and 10 from Rose Smith. Clyde led the Skipjacks by making seven baskets and was 10-for-10 at the free-throw line.
The Skipjacks finished 3-0 in the Classic while the Catamounts closed the three-day event 1-2.
Potomac State (5-4) is idle until after the holiday break. It returns with a 4 p.m. home game against Cecil Jan. 12.

Saturday- Ashley Hines was outstanding for Potomac State recording 25 points, 21 rebounds and 5 steals to lead Potomac State over Baltimore City Community College in the Charm City Classic in Baltimore Saturday.
Baltimore City’s pressure on the defensive end had Potomac State down early, trailing by six at halftime.
Potomac State battled back in the second half, making key foul shots down the stretch to win by three.
Briana Valdez scored eight points, Ali St. Van added six and Ruth Wheeler had five points and three assists.
Shamera O’Neal led Baltimore City with 10 points, Senteria Renwicks and Nikita Brady added nine points.
Frederick 67
Potomac State 59
Friday- Shakena Williams totaled 28 points for Frederick Community College in a 67-59 win over Potomac State College in the Charm City Classic at Baltimore City Community College on Friday.Potomac State took a 36-30 lead into halftime.
However, the teams went back-and-forth for much of the second half. Frederick outscored Potomac State by 20 points at the free-throw line and took the lead for good with one minute left.
Destinee Jernigan had 17 points for Frederick.
Ashley Hines led Potomac State with 17 points, 12 rebounds and eight steals. Ruth Wheeler recorded 15 points and seven steals. Brandi Robertson had 10 points and five assists.
