Lady Cats fall to Westmoreland at the buzzer

KEYSER, W.Va. — Mia Lorigro scored 21 points and led a furious comeback that carried Westmoreland County Community College to a 56-55 win over Potomac State in junior college women’s basketball Wednesday evening.

Sadie Rylander added 16 points for Westmoreland, which trailed 34-26 at halftime and by as many as 20 points in the second half. The winning bucket came on a driving layup at the buzzer.

Ali St. Van hit three three-point goals and had 17 points for Potomac State. Brandie Robertson and Ashley Hines had 10 points and Jessica Francis had 11 rebounds, four points and four assists.

Potomac State (10-8, 4-1 Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference) plays at CCAC-South on Saturday.
