Women's Basketball: PSC drops opener to Hagerstown
HAGERSTOWN, MD — Twelve players scored and three were in double figures for Hagerstown as Potomac State fell 80-58 in its season opener Monday at Hagerstown Community College.
Tiffany Wallace scored 14 points to lead the Hawks, while Katie Sprecher added 11 and Sarah Teacock 10. Alyssa Forbes gave Hagerstown nine points.
Leading the Catamounts with 24 points, eight rebounds and three assists was Jenna McAtee. Lindsey Miller added 12 points.
Potomac State took a 3-0 lead to open the game on the first of McAtee's four 3-pointers at the 18:09 mark of the first half.
Hagerstown then went on a 19-4 run over the next six minutes.
Potomac State got itself into some early foul trouble and trailed 43-29 at halftime. The Cats closed to within nine points in the second half with 15:19 left in the game on one of Miller's three 3-pointers, but were unable to get any closer.
PSC will play its home opener Thursday, 6 p.m. against Southern Maryland.
