Women's Basketball: Lady Cats fall at Westmoreland

YOUNGWOOD, Pa. — Danielle Murphy scored 23 points for Westmoreland during the Wolfpack’s win over Potomac State in the Catamounts Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference opener on Saturday.

Murphy led three players with at least 10 points as Jasmine Belt scored 15 and Hannah Lalcsik added 11.

The Wolfpack worked its way to a 30-19 lead at halftime, but the Cats clawed and scratched the lead down to two points with seven minutes remaining. Potomac State stalled at that point and Westmoreland was able to create some distance over the remaining time.

Rachel Waibogha finished with a double-double for the Cats, scoring 16 points and hauling in 16 rebounds. Jenna MacAtee also scored 16 points in the loss, and Lindsey Wright scored eight.

Potomac State (1-10, 0-1 WPCC) plays at Allegany College of Maryland on Monday at 7 p.m.
