Women’s Cross Country: Cayton sets 6K School record at Gettysburg

Gettysburg, Pa- The Potomac State Harriers were back in action at the 27th Annual Gettysburg College Bullets Invitational.  This invitational, the largest in the region featured 34 teams (including NCAA D1, NCAA D2, NCAA D3, NAIA and NJCAA teams) and 280 runners.  Freshman Diana Cayton (Keyser, WV) set a new Potomac State 6k record with a time of 44:40.

The University of Maryland won the team title with 35 points.

Alexandra Lucki of the University of Maryland won the individual title with a time of 21:50.

“Today was a great day as Diana continues to improve as she set the standard for Potomac State with a new 6k record.  Not only did she set a 6k school record she ran a 5k personal best en-route.  It was a good tune-up for the regional championships next weekend,” stated PSC Head Coach Ian Hankins

Potomac State competes for a Regional Championship on Saturday, October 24th at Hagerstown CC for the Region XX Championship; the women are slated to go off at 10:00 AM.
