Women’s Cross Country: Catamounts impress at AB Seaton Invitational

Phillippi, WV- The Catamount Cross Country Program was back in action this weekend as they made the short trek by traveling to instate rival Alderson Broaddus University for the 2015 AB Seaton Invitational hosted at the Barbour County Fairgrounds.  It was a raining day which made for extremely muddy conditions on a difficult course consisting of several steep inclines and a few creek crossings.  The Potomac State Harriers battled up front in fierce competition against NCAA DII institutions.  Diana Cayton led things off for the Lady Cats as she finished 23rd overall.

Kyria Yanoviak, running unattached won the individual title.

Ohio Valley won the team title by a score of 27 to Alderson Broaddus’ 29 points.

“It was a very difficult day today as we not only had to overcome the elements of rain and mud, but it was a very hilly and challenging course.   This is what true cross country is all about.  I’m proud of the improvement that Diana showed in just a weeks’ time,” stated PSC Head Coach Ian Hankins.

The Catamounts will be back in action on Saturday, September 26th at the Hornet Harrier Invitational at the Kernstown Battlefield hosted by Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA
