Women’s Lacrosse: Brown hired to lead Lady Cats in 2017

Connor Brown has been hired to lead the Catamounts in 2017, succeeding the previous interim coach Josh Seese.

Prior to arriving in Keyser, Brown served as the Associate Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator for the University High School Hawks lacrosse team during the 2016 season. During his time coaching the Hawks he saw four of his offensive players be named to the all-state team, along with leading the squad to the state semifinals. In correspondence to coaching lacrosse, Brown also served as a student manager for the West Virginia football team during the 2014 and 2015 seasons. “Working for WVU was an amazing experience and a great lesson about the coaching world” said Brown, “Getting to learn from Dana Holgorsen, Tony Gibson, Bruce Tall, and Tom Bradley really gave me the chance to look up to somebody, study the path that they took, and figure out how to get to the top myself.”

Brown plans on bringing a competitive style of coaching and routine to the Catamounts lacrosse program. “I would really like to thank Mr. Shawn White, Coach Josh Seese, Coach Brian Houk, my former boss at WVU Dan Nehlen, and my family for giving me the opportunities and tools needed to succeed. I look forward to this role of growing lacrosse in West Virginia and all across the United States.”

Brown graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in Athletic Coaching Education and a minor in Sport Communication. He is also a resident of Westminster, Maryland while during his time in High School he completed the Teaching Academy of Maryland while also playing lacrosse, with his team making a state final appearance in 2012.

Connor Brown will also be serving as an assistant to the men’s lacrosse team at Potomac State.
