Women's Soccer: PSC rolls to 6-0 victory

FRONT ROYAL, Va. — Cassie Alamo and Abigail Altman had two goals and one assist each to help push Potomac State to a 6-0 win over Lord Fairfax Friday afternoon in the Catamounts opener.

Alamo got the day going by scoring an unassisted goal after 33 minutes and three seconds of scoreless play. Altman made her first appearance seven minutes later when she assisted Laurel Podlesnik to make it 2-0.

Altman came out with the first two goals of the second half, being assisted by Podlesnik on the first and Alamo on the second. Alamo recorded her second goal 37 minutes into the second half off of a Acasha Smith assist.

Sadey Crooks finished off scoring by adding an unassisted goal at 41:40.

The Cats overwhelmed Lord Fairfax with a 23-2 edge in shots taken and held a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Smith and Brittany Yates each had one save in the win while Kayla Williams had 11 saves in the loss. Ashley Thomas was credited with solid defense for PSC.

The Catamounts take the field again on Thursday when they host Frederick.
