Women's Soccer: PSC throttles Beaver 13-1

KEYSER, W.Va. — Laurel Podlesnik, Acasha Smith, Sarah Sine and Sadey Crooks scored two goals apiece as Potomac State slashed through Beaver for 10 first-half goals on its way to a 13-1 win Tuesday in Keyser.

Potomac State remains unbeaten at 5-0 with the win and plays again on Friday when it visits Frederick at 3 p.m.

Podlesnik had the first goal of the day four minutes deep in the opening half to start the avalanche. Kelsey Alamo followed to make it 2-0 right before Smith scored two goals to make it 4-0 with 14:36 off the clock. Megan Tomkinson and Raven Bierman scored back-to-back goals, pushing the lead to 6-0, and Sine scored both of her goals consecutively to make it 8-0.

The half ended when Crooks scored her first goal and Angel Dixon added her goal.

Crooks and Podlesnik added their second goals early in the second half, and Abigail Altman scored the final goal for the Catamounts 12:40 into the second half.

Beaver’s Brittany Marlin scored on a penalty kick for the only point PSC allowed.

Brittany Yates and Smith had one save each as the Cats allowed three total shots. Mary Garew made 10 saves for Beaver.
