Potomac State downs Frederick 4-0

KEYSER, WV. — Laurel Podlesnik scored a goal and assisted another one to lead the Potomac State College women to a 4-0 victory over Frederick Community College in college soccer play Thursday at Stayman Field.

The Catamounts took a 2-0 halftime lead as Sadie Crooks scored unassisted at 21:16 and then Abigail Altman at 43:10 on a Podlesnik assist.

In the second half, Nikki Rowe made it 3-0 at the 60:00 mark, before Podlesnik closed the scoring at 75:22 on an assist by Erin Lewis.

Raven Bierman played outstanding defensively for Potomac State.

Potomac State outshot Frederick, 15-2, and held a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks. Meagan Olson saved seven shots in goal for Frederick, while Acasha Smith and Brittany Yates both saved one for Potomac State.

Potomac State (2-0) will host Patrick Henry Saturday at 1 p.m.
