Potomac State blanks Patrick Henry 7-0

KEYSER, W.V. — Laurel Podlesnik scored a pair of goals, and Acasha Smith and Brittany Yates combined for a third straight shutout as Potomac State blanked Patrick Henry 7-0 at Stayman Field Saturday afternoon.
Podlesnik recorded the first goal of the afternoon, unassisted, at 5:11, and the Catamounts would add three more before halftime.
Peyton Derryberry added an unassisted goal at 20:13 and Podlesnick got her second goal off of an assist from Rebekah Messenger. Ashley Thompson finished the scoring in the first half with an unassisted goal at 35:12.
The Cats (3-0) tacked on three more unassisted goals in the second half as Abbie Altman, Sarah Sine and Megan Tomkinson all getting in on the action.
Potomac State led 19-3 in shots and 14-2 in corner kicks. Smith made one save while Yates had two saves while in goal. Kim Kozak had 15 saves for Patrick Henry.
Kelsey Kimmell was credited with a strong defensive performance for PSC.
The Cats play on Wednesday, 4 p.m., at Westmoreland.
