Rayner sparks Potomac State to 4-0 win

KEYSER, W.V. — Kirsten Rayner scored two goals and Potomac State scored two goals in each half in defeating Westmoreland, 4-0, Wednesday, at Stayman Field in college women’s soccer action.

Allison Shaw put the Catamounts on the board at 26:39 of the first with an assist by April Kessel. Rayner then scored unassisted at 43:15 to make it 2-0 at the half.

Abby Lantz scored the third goal, unassisted at 49:55 of the second half, before Rayner concluded the scoring at 67:12 on an assist by Gracie Parzych.

Potomac State outshot Westmoreland, 9-1, and had a 9-0 advantage in corners. Alana Nappi had one save in goal for the Cats.

Potomac State (4-1) will play Saturday at noon against Raritan Valley Community College in Branchburg, N.J.
