Catamounts fall in double overtime

BERKELEY HEIGHTS, N.J. — Bryanna Moncion scored two unassisted goals 40 minutes apart with the second coming in overtime to lift Union Community College past Potomac State College 2-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Kirsten Rayner gave the Catamounts (5-2) a 1-0 lead eight minutes into the second half, but Moncion recorded her first goal 12 minutes later to tie things at 1-1. Following a scoreless first overtime period, Moncion scored another unassisted goal in the 104th minute to send Union to the victory.

Union outshot the Cats 10-5 and also doubled them up on corner kicks, 2-1. Maria Campodinco made four saves in the win, and Alana Nappi had eight in the loss.

Potomac State plays on Friday when they visit Anne Arundel at 6 p.m.
