MIDDLETOWN, VA. — Hannah Rezutek set her second school-record in as many games when she captured the single- season mark for goals in a season by scoring twice Thursday during a 4-1 win over Lord Fairfax.

Rezutek scored her 18th and 19th goals, one in each half, to separate herself from former Catamounts Laurel Podlesnik and Kacee Whetzel with the old record of 17.

Lord Fairfax took the early lead on an unassisted goal from Kimberly Rosario, but Rezutek scored on a penalty kick a little over two minutes later. The Cats (9-1) took the lead when Kirsten Rayner was assisted by Sarah Allman at 43:17 of the first half.

Rayner assisted Rezutek 11 minutes into the second half and the two twisted things around seven minutes later as Rezutek assisted Rayner.

Lana Nappi had one save on two shot attempts as the winning goalie, and Elizabeth Parker had three for Lord Fairfax.

Samantha Sines and Tallia Logsdon were credited for helping the Cats allowing just two shot attempts.

Rezutek broke Whetzel’s single-game record by scoring six goals during a 7-3 win over Westmoreland. She currently leads NJCAA Division II in goals with 19 and is tied in the lead for points with 42.

Potomac State will play Friday at home against the No. 3 team in the country, Howard, at 4 pm.
