Women’s Soccer: Lady Cats open 2014 season with 6-0 win

KEYSER, W.V. — Hannah Rezutek scored a goal and assisted on two others as Potomac State christened its new field by beating Patrick Henry 6-0 Saturday during the Catamounts’ season opener.

Rezutek was involved on the first three goals, assisted Kirsten Rayner on the first, scoring the second unassisted and assisting Tallia Logsdon on the third.

The Cats pushed the lead to 4-0 when Rayner scored on an assist from Logsdon. Jenna Emerick added the final score of the first half, unassisted, at 38:41.

Potomac State tacked on the final goal in the second half when Sarah Allman assisted Brittaney Foster.

Alana Nappi had two saves and Brooke Fink had three while splitting time in PSC’s goal. Halay Eckel made nine saves in the loss.

The Catamounts held advantages in shots (15-5) and corner kicks (10-3).

Potomac State plays again Saturday when it hosts Lord Fairfax.
