Women’s Soccer: Catamounts breeze past Penn State Beaver

MONACA, Pa. — Hannah Rezutek opened scoring with a natural hat trick and had four goals in the first half as Potomac State constructed a 10-1 halftime lead before rolling to an easy 13-1 win over Penn State Beaver on Monday.

Rezutek scored the first three goals in only 15 minutes and also had an assist to go with her four goals, the fourth being scored 20 minutes before halftime.

Kirsten Rayner scored two consecutive goals after Rezutek’s flurry at the beginning, and Morgan Turley followed with a pair of goals to increase the lead to 7-0.

After Rezutek’s fourth goal made it 8-0, Jenna Emerick and Sarah Allman netted the final two goals of the half with both being assisted by Rachael Canterberry

Brooke Fink scored the 11th and 12th goals early in the second half, while Sarah Moreland assisted Fink on her first goal then scored the 13th goal unassisted.

Kayla Bomber made six saves for Beaver during the loss. Catamounts goalie Alana Nappi finished with zero saves on one attempted shot. Potomac State led 24-1 in total shots taken and 5-0 in corner kicks.

Now 11-2, PSC plays Thursday at Frederick at 4 p.m.
