Rezutek leads Potomac State to 3-1 win in season opener

Hannah Rezutek assisted on the first two goals and scored the third Thursday as Potomac State opened its season with a 3-1 win over Washington Adventist at Stayman Field.

Abby Lantz was the first recipient of a Rezutek assist, with Brittany Mathis pushing the score to 2-0 in the first half.

Rezutek made it 3-0 with 23:03 remaining in the second half, and Karis Hunter got Washington on the board by scoring with 17:41 left on an unassisted goal.

The Catamounts led 17-6 in shots taken and 6-4 in corner kicks. Maddie Miller and Samantha Sines led the PSC defense, and Brooke Snyder had five saves.

The Cats will play Sunday, 2 p.m., when they host Lord Fairfax.
