Women’s Soccer: Potomac State pounds Patrick Henry

PURCELLVILLE, Va. — Twelve Potomac State players scored goals as the Catamounts overpowered Patrick Henry, 14-0, in college women’s soccer Saturday afternoon.

Potomac State scored four times in the opening seven minutes and 44 seconds — the first and fourth came from Rochelle Daniels, with Kezia Butcher scoring the second and Kourtney Dalzell the third. Dalzell assisted Daniels’ first goal, Hannah Kress assisted Butcher and Brittany Maphis got the helper on Dalzell’s goal.

Brooke Puffenbarger scored unassisted at 15:10.

The Catamounts put up five goals in the final 15 minutes of the opening half, scored by Lacey Cannon, Savannah Sampson, McKennz White, Kayleigh Arbogast and Puffenbarger. Puffenbarger assisted on Arbogast’s goal.

Kress scored Potomac State’s opening goal of the second half on an assist from Tessa Mulledy. Brooke Snyder and Jesslyn Pound scored the next two goals, unassisted. Mulledy scored the final goal on an assist from Snyder.

Potomac State led in shots (27-3) and corner kicks (6-0).

Vienna Jacobson made 13 saves in goal for Patrick Henry. Snyder, Chloe Payne and Dymonet Redman each made one save for the Catamounts.

Potomac State (2-0) will host Patrick Henry on Friday at 4 p.m.
