Women’s Soccer: Potomac State stays unbeaten

Rochelle Daniels scored three goals and Kylie Bussard had two goals and two assists to power undefeated Potomac State to a 5-1 win over Penn State Mont Alto in college women’s soccer Sunday.

Daniels opened the scoring on a feed from Tessa Mulledy with 36:56 left in the first half, and Bussard doubled the lead to 2-0 on an assist from Penny Summers only five minutes later.

Taylor Zeiders got Mont Alto on the board at the 20-minute mark, and it was just a 2-1 game at the half.

Daniels and Bussard had a role in all three second-half goals. Daniels scored on a Bussard assist to make it 3-1, Bussard scored on a feed from Faith Sentelle to pad the margin to 4-1, and Daniels got the final goal, completing the hat trick after taking a pass from Bussard.

Potomac State led in shots 25-8 and in corner kicks 6-0. Brooke Snyder made seven saves in goal for Potomac State, and Kennedy Guerin had 20 for Mont Alto.

Mulledy and Brittany McMillion were cited for outstanding defensive games for the Catamounts, who put their nine-game unbeaten streak on the line on Thursday at Christendom College.
