Potomac falls 2-0 in Region XX semifinal

ARNOLD, MD - Second-seeded Howard scored a goal in each half, both on corner kicks, for a 2-0 win over third-seeded Potomac State in the Region XX womenýs soccer semifinals Saturday at Anne Arundel Community College.

Ali Ahuak and Ashley Sutkautis scored the goals off corner kicks by Ashley Wendler.

Howard led in shots 13-3 and in corner kicks 5-1.

Potomac State stayed close despite needing to use three goalkeepers in the game because of injuries. Lauren Trenter made six saves, Kacee Whetzel had three and Jessica Elliott two for the Catamounts.

Potomac State ended the season with a 5-4-1 record.
