Catamounts sweep Jamestown for second straight day

Myrtle Beach, S.C. — Taylor Rice went 7-for-8 to lead Potomac State over Jamestown 8-6 and 13-1 in a doubleheader at Myrtle Beach, S.C., on Tuesday.

Rice drove in three runs in the first game that saw the Catamounts go up 6-3 only for Jamestown to come back and tie it. Potomac State added two runs in the fifth to get the win for Sydney Ouzts.

Savannah Hose went 4-for-4, Morgan Wright had a double and two singles and Brittani Chambers added three singles.

Betty Perkins hit two doubles in the loss.

The Catamounts dominated game two behind a complete game from Megan Anderson.

Rice tacked on three hits while Hose added two. Allie Lockhart had two hits and two RBIs.

Perkins and Sheila Appleby each hit two singles.

Potomac State (4-0) plays today against Coastal Carolina in Myrtle Beach, S.C., at 6 p.m.
