Softball: Potomac State pounds out 40 runs in sweep over Butler

KEYSER, W.V. — Lindsey Stidom and Brittany Chambers had three hits in the first game and Savannah Hose had three in the second as Potomac State blew out Butler County in a Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference doubleheader 22-0 and 18-2

The Catamounts (12-2) turned both games into blowouts with big second innings. They scored 15 runs in the second inning of the opener and had 10 in the second inning of the nitecap.

In the first game, Stidom tripled, doubled twice and knocked in five runs to lead an 18-hit attack. Chambers had two doubles and a single, Allie Lockhart two doubles and two RBIs, Hose a triple and a double, Erica Doyle a double and a single and Taylor Rice two  singles .

Pitchers Kendra Hardesty, Megan Anderson and Jody Shipman combined for 12 strikeouts and only one walk.

In the second game, Hose belted a double and two singles and the Cats finished with 16 hits. Stidom and Morgan Wright doubled and singled and Taylor Haggerty had three singles.

Pitchers Sydney Ouztz and Rice combined for eight strikeouts and two walks.
