Softball: Potomac State sweeps twin bill from Westmoreland

YOUNGWOOD, Pa. — Taylor Rice had seven hits and Potomac State remained undefeated in the Western Pennsylvania
College Conference by sweeping two games from Westmoreland Saturday afternoon.

Rice had three hits as the Catamounts got past the Wolfpack 4-2, then had a 4-for-4 performance in leading PSC to a 15-0 win to improve the Cats to 10-0 in the WPCC and 19-3 overall.

In the opener, Rice had three singles and drove in a run, Savannah Hose added two hits and an RBI and Allie Lockhart doubled home a run.

Sydney Ouzts struck out six in a complete-game victory.

Melanie Welc had a double and two RBIs for Westmoreland.

Rice singled four times in the second game, two coming an 11-run third inning.  Lockhart singled three times, Hose hit a double and a single and winning pitcher Meghan Anderson had two singles and two RBIs.

Ahead 1-0 entering the top of the second inning, Potomac State used 10 hits to score 11 runs and blow the score open.
