KEYSER, W.V. — Britani Chambers finished Potomac State’s regular season with a bang launching a three-run home run that brought on the mercy rule and handed the Cats a sweep of Westmoreland and an undefeated conference title Saturday afternoon in their regular season finale.

Potomac State scored eight runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to complete the doubleheader with an 11-1 victory after beginning the day with an 11-2 victory.

Chambers added a single to her game-ending home run, and Savannah Hose came through with a triple, double and a single. Victoria Philips finished with a double and a single, and Taylor Rice singled twice. Erica Doyle hit a home run to lead off the sixth.

Saydi Rylander hit two singles in the loss.

Both Chambers and Rice had three hits to lead the Cats to a nine-run win in the opener. Doyle drove in three runs with a pair of singles, while Bethani Chambers accounted for three RBIs on a double and a single.

The pair of wins makes the Catamounts a perfect 12-0 in the Western Pennsylvania College Conference and gives them the league championship.

PSC finishes the regular season 24-6 and awaits today’s seeding on next weekend’s Region XX Tournament.
