Softball: Ouzts and Vetter lead Potomac State to sweep

KEYSER, W.V. — Potomac State limited Beaver County to five hits and two runs on strong starts by Sydney Ouzts and Shayna Vetter to remain undefeated in the Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference as they swept a pair 10-2 and 16-0.

Ouzts retired 12 hitters by strikeout and allowed three singles with no walks as the Catamounts won 10-2 in the early game.

Sam Hoban had two doubles and a single and three RBIs, Vetter a double, two singles and three RBIs to lead the attack. Whitley Mongan had threesingles, Britani Chambers a double and single and Meghan Anderson two singles.

Sam Swartz had two of Beaver’s three singles.

The Cats got four strikeouts from Vetter and two from Anderson in the late game as the two held Beaver to two singles.

Mongan had a double, single and an RBI and Anderson belted a bases-loaded triple. Mariah Martin singled twice, and Alyssia Whitacre doubled singled.
