Softball: Potomac State continues hot-streak and cruises past CCBC

MONACA, Pa. — Potomac State pounded out 13 hits in the first game and 22 in the second to sweep a doubleheader from the Community College of Beaver County, 8-0 and 22-3, Tuesday in junior college softball action at Beaver.

Danica Rogers and Josie Clark combined for a five-inning one-hitter in the opener, and Hali Jarrell, Chelsea Shepherd and Cheyenne Earl singled and doubled for the Lady Catamounts.

In the second game, Potomac State scored 13 runs in the second inning to roll to the sweep. Beth Cook hit a home run, two singles and a double to knock in seven runs for Potomac State, while Kendall Keplinger homered as well.

Sam Hoban had two singles and two doubles and knocked in four runs, and Christina Collins hit a single, double and triple.

Potomac State (16-7) will host Allegany College on Thursday at 3 p.m.
