Softball: Potomac State sweeps Dundalk

KEYSER, W.Va. — Makenah Harrington and Jordyn Munson combined on a five-inning perfect game and Munson hit a game-ending two-run home run to lift Potomac State to a 9-0 win over Dundalk and a doubleheader sweep in college softball Sunday afternoon.

The Catamounts (7-5) won the first game 12-2, also in five innings.

In the second game, Harrington pitched the first three innings and struck out five, and Munson added two relief innings to complete the perfect game.

The Catamounts, who scored six runs in the first inning, led 7-0 before Munson’s game-ending two-run homer.

Abby Gillingham, Kaitlynn Tichnell and Abby Doyka had RBI doubles for the Catamounts.

In the opener, Munson led a 17-hit attack with a double, three singles and three RBIs. Sierra Farris had a double, single and three RBIs and Carli Nixon a double, single and two runs scored.

Kadi Cosgrove allowed two hits, struck out eight and did not walk a batter in three innings for the win.

Potomac Sate will host Allegany today at 3 p.m
