Potomac State blanks Garrett

KEYSER, W.V. - Former Bishop Walsh standout Rochelle Wolford struck out 16 in five innings of work as Potomac State shut out Garrett twice in a sweep of their junior college softball doubleheader Tuesday afternoon.

Wolford allowed two hits and did not walk a batter in Catamountsı 30-0 win in the second game.

Jamie Wingo hit a triple and a double, and former Moorefield star Brittany Wright had three singles and a triple. Lisa Barry doubled and singled twice.

Aaryka Anglin had six strikeouts in three innings, and Shelia Armel struck out five in two innings in a 24-0 win in the opener.

Wolford and Armel connected for back-to-back home runs in th fourth inning. Wolford's blast was a three-run shot.

Potomac State (9-5) will host Frederick in a 3 p.m. doubleheader on Friday.
