Potomac State Lady Cats dominate Garrett

KEYSER, W.Va. — Chelsea Holcomb had four hits in the first game and Courtney Dolly had three in the second as Potomac State breezed to a doubleheader sweep of visiting Garrett by scores of 19-0 and 15-0.

In the first game, Holcomb went 4-for-4 with two doubles, two singles and three RBIs in leading a 21-hit attack. Mandi Workman smacked a double and two singles for the Catamounts, who scored 15 runs in the second inning.

Victoria Thompson and Allie Lantz teamed for a two-hit shutout. Both had five strikeouts.

In the second game, Dolly had three singles and Lantz and Tiffany Biggs two for Potomac State, which had 12 hits.

Jessica Shirley, who pitched two innings, and Biggs, who worked the final three, combined on a one-hitter with seven strikeouts.

Megan Sisler singled in the third inning to account for Garrett’s hit.

Potomac State (11-7) hosts Westmoreland today at 3 p.m.
