Morgan leads Potomac State to sweep over Dundalk

BALTIMORE, MD — Potomac State’s Jasmine Morgan had six hits and six runs batted in over both games of a doubleheader with Dundalk as the Catamounts swept the Lions Friday afternoon.

Morgan had two hits and one RBI as PSC shut down Dundalk 8-0 in the first game, and four hits and five RBIs during the Cats’ 13-3 win in the second.

Potomac State scored in every inning and led 7-0 before the Lions scored during the 10-run victory in game two. Morgan had two doubles and two singles in four at-bats, driving in five runners as the Catamounts improved to 6-0.

Savannah Hose and Erin McGee both hit a double and a single, with Hose also driving in two runners. Courtney Dolly finished 3-for-4 with a double and two singles.

Taylor Rice struck out four and walked one, allowing two singles and no earned runs, to earn the victory.

The Catamounts broke a 0-0 tie by scoring six runs in the third inning of the opener. They scored the final two runs in the fourth.

Erica Doyle had a triple, double and three RBIs, and winning pitcher Tori Thompson added a RBI single to her four strikeouts and complete game shutout as the winning pitcher.

Becca Clanholt hit a double in the third inning for half of the Lions’ hits.

Potomac State stays on the road to play again today when it visits Rappahannock (Va.) at 1 p.m.
