Potomac State Softball drops a pair to CSM

LaPLATA, MD — The College of Southern Maryland swept a doubleheader from Potomac State Monday afternoon, winning the first game, 8-0, and the second game 11-1 in junior college softball action Monday at Southern Maryland.

Brittany Bolden had two singles for Southern Maryland to knock in two runs in the opener, while Brooke Gardner had two singles and knocked in three.

Southern Maryland would need just five innings to win the second game, thanks in part to a seven-run third. Winning pitcher Kylynn Ballenns and Rochelle Ellera doubled and singled for Southern Maryland. Erica Doyle doubled, singled and scored Potomac State’s only run.

The Catamounts (7-3) play the College of Albemarle on Wednesday, at 4 p.m., in Elizabeth City, N.C.
