Volleyball: Mongold marches Potomac State to win

KEYSER, W.V. — Morgan Mongold had a triple-double with 11 kills, 11 points and 21 digs to lead Potomac State to a 25-7, 25-18, 25-18 sweep of visiting Westmoreland Thursday night.

Peyton Smith had nine service points, six kills and 16 digs, Julia Morikawa eight points and 37 digs an Alyssia Whitacre 13 assists and 11 digs for Potomac State. Stephanie Cornachia had nine kills and three blocks, Alexia Mauzy eight assists and five digs, Aimee Conley eight kills and Michaela Osborne seven kills.

The Catamounts (14-6) play Montgomery and the Community College of Rhode Island in a tri-match Saturday at Montgomery College. Potomac State lost to Butler Wednesday night, 25-20, 27-25 and 26-24.

Mongold had 13 kills and 11 digs, Smith nine points, four aces, 27 assists and 18 digs, Conley seven kills and eight digs, Kaitlyn Semler six kills and Osborne five kills. Morikawa added seven points and 19 digs and Mauzy had seven points.
