Volleyball: Catamounts sweep Allegany

Julia Morikawa was 18-for-18 serving for Potomac State in a 25-17, 25-9, 26-24 sweep at Allegany College of Maryland on Monday.

The Catamounts trailed 24-21 in the third game before Peyton Smith served three aces in the final five points to finish it out. Smith added 26 assists and 11 digs.

Kaitlin Semler recorded 15 digs and nine kills, Morgan Mongold added eight service points and nine kills, Michaela Osbourne chipped in seven kills and Stephanie Cornachia had four with five blocks. Alyssa Whitacre racked up 29 digs.

Parris Duncan led the Trojans, going 14-for-16 on attacks with six kills and three blocks. Shae Winner was 7-for-20 with five kills. Morgan Ruppenkamp finished 12-for-12 with four kills and six digs.

Potomac State (2-0) goes to Penn Highlands today at 6 p.m.
