Potomac State wins pair on the road

ROCKVILLE , MD— Alyssia Whitacre combined for 25 points, 22 digs and eight aces for Potomac State during the Catamounts’ sweeps over Rhode Island and host Montgomery-Rockville.

In the sweep of Rhode Island (25-21, 27-25 and 25-21). Whitacre had 15 points with six aces and 10 digs, while Peyton Smith added 28 assists, 15 digs and four aces. Morgan Mongold was in double figures with 11 digs and 10 kills. Julia Morikawa recorded 11 digs and six points, and Aimee Conley had 10 kills and six digs. Michaela Osbourn had seven kills to go with five blocks.

In the win over Rockville, which the Cats won 25-14, 25-22, 25-19, Whitacre had 12 digs, 10 points and two aces. Conley added 17 kills and five digs, Mongold 11 kills and seven digs, and Smith had 28 assists and nine digs. Osbourn pitched in with 11 points and six kills, and Julia Morikawa had nine digs and seven points.

Now 16-6, Potomac State will play at Westmoreland on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
