Volleyball: Potomac State outlasts Northern Virginia

KEYSER, W.V. — Anya Murray, Shakayla Ganoe and Sarah Lowery posted double-doubles as Potomac State pulled out three tight sets in a 25-22, 25-22, 25-23 sweep of Northern Virginia Tuesday evening in the Dana G. Lough Gymnasium.

The win moves the Catamounts to 13-3 overall and keeps them unbeaten and atop the Region XX standings at 11-0, followed by Frederick and Northern Virginia. Potomac State had won five-set matches earlier in the year at Northern Virginia and at Frederick.

Murray had 12 service points, 11 kills, four aces and nine digs, Ganoe 32 assists, 14 digs and three blocks, and Lowery 14 points, 10 digs and eight kills to lead the Catamounts to Tuesday night’s win. Shayla Hillian had 11 kills, six blocks and six digs, Kyle Stottlemyer nine kills, six points and two blocks, Autumn Dishman 16 digs and Cassidy Cosner two blocks and four digs.

Potomac State will try go for a sweep of the season series with Frederick on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
